Early Miss Earth Faves Win Preliminary Tilts
Date: May 1, 2015
The show, organized by COO Fely Ramos and CFO Tommy Tantoco, had the 41 contestants parading in swimsuits showcasing their fashion sense and style in the resort wear competition.
The early favorites easily stood out and were declared winners at the end of the program. They were Angelia Gabrena Ong of Manila, Best in Resort Wear gold medalist; Danica Bautista Ebrada of Muntinlupa, silver medalist; Jona Ili Sweett of Iloilo, bronze medalist; Miss Pontefino Hotel and CEO’s Choice Diana Cariaga Mackey of Cabanatuan; and Miss Pontefino Residences Chanel Olive Villamayor Thomas of San Antonio, Nueva Ecija.
Pontefino has been hosting the exciting subsidiary events of both Miss Earth and Miss Philippines Earth for the last four years, and Ramos noted that the winners at the Pontefino tilts have always eventually ended up as winners during coronation night. This year’s finals will be held at the Mall of Asia Arena on May 31.
As expected, PNP Inspector Sofia Loren Pang-ot Deliu of Baguio City ruled the event to win the gold medal. Jhelie Perez Habana of Bula, Camarines Sur took the silver, while Patrizia Laureola Garcia of Pasig City settled for bronze.
Proceeds of the fun run will go to the Calumpang River Rehabilitation Program, where nipa palm trees will be planted at the banks of the river going out to Batangas Bay.
From Batangas City, the girls went to nearby Tanauan City where they displayed their exceptional talents and skills in singing, dancing and other stage performances.
The swimsuit competition concluded last night at Shangri La Hotel in Lapu-lapu City, Cebu. The much-awaited press presentation of the 41 beauties, meanwhile, will be on May 7 at Diamond Hotel in Manila.
